There are a variety of options to fix slow Mac performance. The first step is to start the Activity Monitor to check whether there are any issues with memory use. Select the processes you’re experiencing and then click to quit. You can click Quit if it takes up too much memory. Alternatively, you can also utilize the System Memory tab to check if there are any other unresponsive processes that are operating in your Mac.

The CPU is another possible reason for slowness on your Mac. Close any program which uses overly much CPU. Open Activity Monitor, click on the „X” button beneath the buttons. If you’re not sure which apps are taking up excessive CPU power Try a Google search for the apps. It should allow you identify which programs can slow down your computer’s performance.

The performance of your Mac may also slow down when it is loaded with too many applications. The operating system can run slow if there are several programs. You can try deleting any files you don’t use, or simply move them to another drive. Start Activity Monitor to see a list of running processes in your Mac. There should be a couple of mistakes – this could be a good sign you’re using too many applications in parallel.
